Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
This past weekend, several USEF/USDF/CDS shows finally happened here in California. Lots of other events are happening here as well - protests, rallies, cookouts, but horse shows are still on the nope list in most California counties, including mine. Speedy and I were supposed to compete at a USDF show over the weekend, but it was cancelled just days before due to fear of what that county might do. With that show show cancelled, I quickly mailed out an entry to the SCEC show for this coming weekend. It was at SCEC in October that Speedy and I earned our first qualifying Third Level score for our Bronze Medal. Earning our second score there would wrap up that chapter in our dressage journey nicely. On Friday, the show manager, a very good friend, sent word that the show is a go. There is still time for this show to be cancelled as well, but my fingers (and toes) are crossed that we finally make it to a show this year. I worried at our readiness last year. While we still have so much to learn, we're at least more prepared for Third Level than we were last fall.
Think good thoughts for us, will you? Comments are closed.
