Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
I mentioned this the other day, but I've rejoined America's workforce. I wasn't jobless before, but I was on summer break. By rejoining the worker bees, my mornings are no longer spent at the barn. Instead, I've been driving to work during those two cooler hours and then spending the rest of the day in workshops and trainings.
And then, just as any last breath of coolish air disappeared, I was free to go to the barn. You know me, I ride come hell or high water. That meant that I left school at 3:30 and was saddled by 4:30. It was stinking hot. Twice I hosed the horses off before and after riding. Izzy got worked on Wednesday and Friday with an hour and a half turn out on Thursday. Speedy got worked only on Thursday. With the heat and the late afternoon arrival, I only had time to ride one horse a day. Today, I get to pretend that I am once again part of the free-living folks who don't have to earn a living. I'll ride both horses this morning during the coolest part of the day. I'll continue the work that I started with Chemaine on Izzy, and then Speedy will get lots and lots of canter to trot to canter transitions. We're going to the CDS Adult Amateur Regional Competition next weekend. Have a great weekend! Comments are closed.
