Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
Last week, I shared some pictures of my colleagues' kids hanging out with Speedy at our last show of the year. If you missed the post, check it out if only to see how cute those girls were. One morning last week, I found two of the above cutie pies standing outside of my classroom door just as our morning bell was ringing. Before I knew it, one of the girls had shrugged off her obviously heavy back pack and excitedly chirped that she had brought me some candy. I am not going to lie, I cringed inwardly since I am on a weight loss marathon and am doing my best to avoid all candy and sweets. I smiled anyway and eagerly asked what kind. She quickly clarified that it was candy for Speedy - the kind he likes. At the show, the girls had laughed in surprise when I handed them some candies to feed him. They didn't realize he liked real candy. They of course enjoyed a piece right along with Speedy. Seriously. Is that not the cutest thing you've seen today? It's kids like these that keep me coming back for more. I can't wait to see what Speedy thinks of the cinnamon flavor. He's a pig when it comes to candy. Wait until I slip him the sour apple one!
You still have time to comment on Monday's post for a chance to win a pair of Roeckl gloves.

Mine like hard candy, too. I've got one who turns his nose up to peppermint but adores butterscotch. Candy is so much easier to keep on hand than carrots and apples. 9/8/2018 04:42:34 pm
EXACTLY! Izzy doesn't like the candy all that well, but he can be coaxed to try it now and then. Always give Speedy two at a time, but I make sure to give the same two because I always imagine how nasty it would be to go from butterscotch to peppermint. LOL

Speedy LOVES those puffy ones. Unfortunately I do too so they don't last long. LOL

The one who brought the candy just ran for student council and won. I voted for her of course. LOL Comments are closed.
