Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
I'v been meaning to share this for a while, but there's been so much else happening that I kind of let it go until now. Have you ever used these jelly scrubbers? Seriously. You could take every brush out of my grooming bag and leave me with just this one. Over the summer, this thing has become my go-to grooming tool. Speedy absolutely loves the thing and has gotten to the point where he BEGS for it each morning. Really. He does. As soon as I pull in, he walks away from his food and starts talking to me. If I clean his stall first thing, he gets as close to me as he possibly can and starts shimmying along my side until I get the jelly scrubber. Once I start, he simply melts. Not only does he love how it feels, but that thing gets out serious amounts of dirt and loose hair. It also makes scrubbing legs a lot easier. And you know that gunk that geldings get on their hind legs? This thing loosens that stuff too without being painful. And anything that makes Speedy feel like this, is totally worth the money, especially since it costs less than a coffee at Starbucks!

THAT LIP!!
YES! One of my very favorites, too. 8/30/2014 10:26:25 am
I use a different type for bathing, but only because I don't want to schlepp this one out to my bathing bucket, but I bet it would work great. I want to order a couple more to keep in my trailer and bathing bucket.

Hey, this brush sounds like it might be good for Harley because the plastic bristles probably will not send dust flying like a regular brush. I will give it a try. Just ordered one! 8/30/2014 05:15:10 am
I hadn't thought of that, Val, but I bet you're right. The thing I like about it is that it brings the dirt to the surface but it doesn't fly around. Usually it balls up inside the brush, and then I knock it against the fence or my boot to dislodge the dirt. It works a little like a curry comb, but it's much softer and more flexible. I hope it works for Harley!

I won one at an endurance ride and I LOVE it. 8/30/2014 10:27:35 am
Cool completion prize - very useful! I always looked forward to what we might get. T-shirts and buckets are nice, but it was this kind of stuff that I really dug! 8/30/2014 10:28:42 am
I want to get a couple more for my other grooming bags (trailer, shampoo bucket).

Ooh, I might have to try one of these! We have very soft rubber "tiny finger" curries that the boys love in the summer, and stiffer ones for their winter coats. This looks like a nice alternative! 8/31/2014 11:25:24 pm
I have one of those soft rubber curries too, but this one is different and really gets the dirt and hair loose. I ordered a second one for tent railer yesterday. And yeah … Speedy is quite expressive with his mouth. :0)

I LOVE these. They come in one size smaller than this and they work so well. They are a definite favorite of mine. Also, Speedy's mane is gorgeous! 8/31/2014 11:27:14 pm
I don't know why it took me so long to discover these things, but I love them too. And thanks, since Speedy is an Arabian, he somehow gets a pass on the pulled main thing. Sydney's is short, but I keep Speedy's natural. :0) Comments are closed.
