Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
As summer begins to wind down, lots of online shops are clearing out their summer gear, especially for things fly related. At the end of last summer, I bought Izzy a steeply discounted fly mask. Unfortunately, I brought out the shiny new mask too early in the summer before it was hot enough for him to appreciate its benefits. He had it ripped up in no time. I was pretty disgusted as it was a really nice fly mask. In May, I caved and bought him a second fly mask, but I didn't put it on him until June. For this summer, I bought the Kensington fly mask, and it turned out to be every bit as good as the Guardsman. Izzy has managed to scrape it off once or twice, but he didn't rip it to shreds. It has certainly seen better days, but it has held up incredibly well over the summer. Izzy is a tough customer; he doesn't treat his things well, so for a fly mask to last all summer, it has to be sturdy and able to withstand pretty rough treatment. On Friday, I saw an email from Riding Warehouse promoting their fly control sale. While Izzy's current fly mask will easily make it the rest of the summer - we have a good six weeks left, I wanted to take advantage of the sale and get next summer's fly mask purchased at a discount. I went with the same Kensington Fly mask. I love it when a sale doesn't require a code. For this sale, the discount is applied as soon as the item hits your cart. I also threw in a cheap lead rope, something I've needed to use for my modified cross ties. While I wanted free shipping, I just didn't need anything else. With the fly mask on sale and the use of a discount code for the lead rope, I still ended up paying a little bit less than if I had ordered the fly mask at full price with free shipping. More than anything, I appreciated the convenience of not having to shop around for the fly mask. The sale is valid through September 18, so you still have time to check out the selection of fly masks, fly sheets, fly boots, and repellants. That buy 3+, save 25% thing is a great deal. I really wish my fly spray brand and Speedy's regular fly mask were part of the deal. That would have saved me a lot of money.
I'll take the 15% off though; I am not one to turn my nose up at a deal. Comments are closed.
