Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
After that marathon post from yesterday, I figured we could all use a break so this is just a looky-lou post. Okay, some reading might be necessary. Either hit the play button, or arrow through the pictures.

Great pictures! It's almost like being there. They help me visualize participating in such a clinic and they also help reduce some of the anxiety that comes with the 'unknown.' For a newbie like myself, that's1/4 of the battle...but like you said, we have to stretch ourselves (suck it up, feel the fear and do the Nike thing) if we really want to learn and grow.

Oh, I know who Stretch Armstrong is, never had him, but my friends and cousins did! Any weirdness in the photos of you riding comes from your poorly skilled photographer (moi), not you! That photo with you coming down the rail was when he kept changing where he wanted you to put your hands ("on za knees") - remarkably you kept Speedy moving forward and freely while still figuring out what the heck he wanted/where to put your hands!! You are a very lovely rider and the pics I took do NOT do you justice ;)

Sarah - seriously, your incredibly generous compliment made my eyes prick with tears. What a kind thing to say; thank you. When I had my lesson on Monday, I asked my trainer to be honest with me about my seat. I am so very self-concious about it as an endurance seat is HUGELY different. She isn't one to be overly effusive so when I heard that I looked solid and steady in my legs, core, and seat, I took it as a compliment. Even hearing her say that all is fine isn't quite enough to convince me. Always the critic ... :0)

I love pictures, too. I kind of want to get one of those "Hops" going. I want all of the bloggers out there to do a photo dump of their stalls, arenas, wash racks, and tack rooms. I am addicted to looking at that kind of thing. It fascinates me to no end!

Hi Reagan - it was a nice place, and I did have fun. It's hard not to have fun when you're sleeping just a few feet from your horse. I think Speedy is a cutie, too. :0) Comments are closed.
