Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
It's been a long time since I was able to just watch someone else's lesson. When I was still riding with JL, the hunter/jumper trainer down the road, I could watch lessons any time, and I did. Now that I am at the ranch, there's no one to watch. Ranch Owner and L tend to ride during the week while I am at work, and when they take a lesson, they haul out. So when my friend, E, asked if I wanted to meet up at her barn for some girl time and horse talk, I said sure! She wanted to talk about bits, so I brought a small pile. Another friend happened to be there, so I caught up with her as well. While I love the peacefulness of being at the ranch, I do miss talking about horse stuff with friends. When the trainer arrived, we all walked over to the dressage court, and I picked a corner to sit in. E handed me her phone and asked if I might take some video or photos. I've had so many generous friends do it for me that it was nice to return the favor. I may have to try and make more time to catch lessons over at E's barn. It was really refreshing to visit with her and meet the trainer. Virtual friends are great, but a face to face is so much better!
