Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
It finally rained on Saturday night. We actually got a full quarter inch which is extremely rare for late March. That brings our total to 1.81 inches; normal is 5.66. Last year we had 3.02 total inches. We're pretty far behind.
I am grateful for the rain. I would happily give up the next two weeks of riding if it would just keep raining. I am also grateful to my barn owners. No sooner had it cleared up than they were out with the tractor dragging our freshly watered sand to smooth and level it. By Monday afternoon, the arena was again dusty and dry. I actually ran the sprinklers for more than an hour. We have more rain in the forecast, but I don't know if it will actually make it here, and even if it does, it may not be enough to wet our windshields. Keep your fingers crossed. 4/1/2014 10:04:26 am
We got more last night, and a bit more is predicted this evening, too. I am praying to the rain gods. :0) 4/1/2014 10:07:11 am
