Not-So-Speedy Dressage
From Endurance to Dressage
I love the chiropractor. My own and Speedy G's. The chiropractor is just one more member of the "Keep My Horses Healthy" team. My farrier, the World's Greatest, and my vet, Dr. Blanton, are two other members of the team. Between the three of them and myself, we keep Speedy moving well and pain free. Sydney is joining this health care team next week when he sees the World's Greatest Farrier, and the week after when he sees Dr. Blanton at BVH. I have used several different chiropractors over the years, but the last few adjustments have been done by Chris Marks, C.V.C.P. and Cotton Marks, C.V.C.P. I like these guys ... a lot. They're gentle with the horses, and they seem to really like the horses. They don't get upset with nervous horses, and they treat the owners, who can be a bit bewildered by the anatomical vocabulary being tossed about, respectfully and courteously. That's why they've joined team "Keep My Horses Healthy." I am going to apologize for the video quality before hand. There was a lot of background noise that I tried to edit out so the sound quality is not very good. It is also hard to capture good footage around two large men. I tried to stick myself in their way as unobtrusively as possible, but I frequently recorded butts and backs! I also only showed snippets of the entire adjustment. Each of the procedures that you'll see were done on both sides of Speedy G. I only show you one side. As you watch, pay attention to Speedy G's face and mouth. He is quite expressive and it is easy to tell when something felt good, weird, or even slightly painful. A few times he gets a look on face that says things kind of tickle, especially near the end. If you'd like to contact Chris or Cotton (both are Certified Veterinary Chiropractitioners), they can be reached at the following numbers:

The video was goofy there for a minute, but I think it's fixed now. Enjoy!

My favorite part of Chris' visit is always when he shows stretches and massages to do at home to keep your horse in good shape! Comments are closed.
